Wonder Dynamics, a startup founded in 2016 by Taj Sheridan, an actor known for the film Ready Player One, and Nikola Todorovic, a video effects expert, took $9 million investment. The main investors in this round included major global companies Horizons Ventures, Epic Games and Samsung Next.
The startup, which has offices in LA and Novi Sad, is developing tools based on artificial intelligence, providing the opportunity for filmmakers to create elements of visual effects and computer graphics at higher speeds and at lower costs.
The platform is expected to begin working next year, and the co-founders stated that they plan to reveal the new technology to the public during the SXSW 2022 festival. The fresh capital will help the company expand its team of machine learning engineers and computer graphics experts to accelerate the development of the cloud platform for creating artificial intelligence-based content, Wonder AI Suite, for projects of all sizes.
“As we progressed with the development, we knew that our project could be much more than a software for visual effects. That is why we are very happy to have attracted important strategic partners such as Epic Games and Samsung Next in this investment round”, said Hollywood actor Taj Sheridan, co-founder of the startup.
