Alt Labs is the first team from Serbia to work on decentralized data storage within the Filmine ecosystem, and only two months after the start of the project, they received funding worth over one million dollars, partly in Filecoin (FIL) tokens.
The investment came from Protocol Labs as a support for development of Filmine – an ecosystem designed to decentralize datacenters. Filmine develops software that allows data center operators (known as miners) to easily upgrade their data centers from Web2 technology to Web3 technology with open source tools – without prior knowledge of Web3 and with minimal or no need for additional hardware.
The Filmine ecosystem is made up not only of Alt Labs employees, but also of all other developers who contribute to open source, data center operators and those who support them believing in their mission – and this is an established practice in the crypto world.
Vukasin Vukoje, the founder of Alt Labs said that thanks to this investment, in the next 12 months they will accelerate the growth of the data centers network and the development of software that will enable data centers to switch from traditional to decentralized data storage.
