This year, 2,376 graduates passed admission tests, which is twice as many students as planned— there are 1,160 places in IT departments in 52 high schools in Serbia.
These results confirm the big popularity of IT departments and continue the trend from last year when five times more students passed the admission tests than in the previous year, and 801 enrolled in 44 newly formed departments. This is particularly encouraging given that two years ago, only 280 junior high school graduates passed admissions for the planned 13 specialized IT departments—the situation was then interpreted as a consequence of not informing schools and students in a timely manner about the opening of classes and the method of scoring.
Students will attend specialized subjects during all four years. During the period of their studies, these students will attend a total of 934 hours of computer science courses.
