Luka Ivićević, one of the founders of the Berlin-Belgrade startup Penta, co-founded a new startup in Miami, which has just secured $6 million in seed investment.
A $6 million seed round of investment was led by LAUNCHub Ventures and Inovo Venture Partners. Index Health will use these funds to hire specialized medical professionals, engineering talent, and expand its network of users across the US.
Index Health deals with solutions in the field of telemedicine. It offers users a personalized, data-driven approach to medical treatment using lab tests and specialized staff. In his interview, Luka told the TechCrunch portal the following:
With Root Cause Medicine technology, we collect more than 1,000 pieces of data using advanced laboratory tests to provide a complete patient history. Then, based on the collected data, we compile a personalized treatment intended exclusively for the individual patient and the treatment of his condition.
Index Health’s main focus is on cardiovascular disease, diabetes, hormones, and autoimmune conditions, and users are able to talk to their doctor or nutritionist on a regular basis. The startup collects over 1,000 data points for each laboratory test performed, which, along with one-hour conversation with a selected doctor, significantly shortens the time of diagnosis. Otherwise, when performed in the traditional way, this type of diagnosis can take up to several months.
Given that the market is highly competitive, the founders of Index Health hope that their personalized, data-driven approach combined with telemedicine, will be a winning formula in diagnosis.
