There are plenty of English-speaking estate agents with easy-to-use websites, where you can browse photographs and details of available apartments. But, perhaps the best option that we would recommend is City Expert, an online-only agency with no fees for tenants which is really user-friendly and easy to browse through. You can also choose a traditional estate agency for more in-depth help on finding a flat – including negotiating lower prices.
The following agencies are offering apartments for long term stay, usually with a minimum of a one year lease.
If you’re planning a shorter-term stay, you can check out these websites.
Some of the best districts in Belgrade include Dorćol which is near the city center and the Danube river bank, also Vračar with a lot of beautiful neighborhoods and architecture. Since most of the companies have their offices in Novi Beograd (New Belgrade), a lot of people choose this part of the city as their residence. It is great for kids with a lot of parks and schools, and it’s well connected to other parts of the city.
Senjak and Dedinje are some of the more luxurious parts of Belgrade, similar to American suburbs with a lot of beautiful houses, some of which are available for rent. These two districts are a bit further from the city center so if you decide to rent a place here, you’ll need a car, since this part of Belgrade is not very well connected to the rest of the city.
When it comes to Novi Sad, some of the best districts that we would recommend include Center, Podbara (a lot of charming old houses), Grbavica and Novo naselje (a little further away from the center, but great for families with children). Liman and Detelinara are also popular parts of town among locals.
